Did you know that by 2030, freelancers might make up 80% of the global workforce? Today, we already have 57 million freelancers in America.

If you're one of them, then you already know of all the great perks. But there's also the downside that if you don't work, you don't get paid. For those of you who are freelance writers, writer's block can become a huge enemy when it comes to your income.

To help you out, here are some great ways to get over writer's block.

Change up your surroundings

As a freelancer, you enjoy one great benefit that others don't have: the freedom to move around whenever you want. So why not use this to your advantage?

Pack up your laptop and go sit outside in the park, in a cafe, or just in your backyard. Sometimes, all it takes is a change of scenery to get your creative juices flowing again.

Take a break

One of the best ways to get over writer's block is to take a break. When you continuously try to chip away at writer's block, it often backfires. You dig yourself into a hole that feels impossible to get out of.

So instead of wasting your time, get up from your desk and take a break. Go do something else, like paint, dance, meditate, or run.

When you come back to your desk, you'll be able to approach your writing with a fresh perspective.

Do some freewriting

Freewriting can help jumpstart the engine, so to speak.

If you find yourself stuck, start off your day with 15 minutes of freewriting. Write whatever comes to mind, and don't pay attention to spelling or grammar.

Still feel stuck? Then no pressure. Put aside your freelance work (if possible) and just do some freewriting every day until you feel like you're back in the groove of things.

Use a time-tracking app

A time-tracking app can help visualize your work. This means you can see an overview of when you start and stop work, as well as when you're most productive. From there, you can determine when it's best to sit down and brainstorm writing ideas.

An added perk is you'll be better able to invoice your clients, as this app will show exactly when you're working and what task you're doing too.

Say goodbye to writer's block

Writer's block can be annoying to deal with when it comes up. And when you're worried about it, it just becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy where you're just perpetually blocked from writing down anything good!

But overcoming writer's block is a cinch with our tips. So leave your stress behind and refer back to this article whenever you have trouble. It'll help you get the ball rolling again.
